Donation Station
A Cancer Research UK Donation Station is a very easy way to generate valuable stock for our shops. A Donation Station is simply an area where you ask staff or customers to drop off bags of unwanted items.
| Did you know that every year in the UK 1.2 million tonnes of clothing end up in a landfill? Cancer Research UK are doing their part for recycling our shops processed over 32 million items of clothing in 2008. |
As well as helping to beat cancer, supporting your local Cancer Research UK shop with stock can contribute to your company's wider Corporate Social Responsibility programme by showing a real commitment to recycling.
Follow our step by step guide to this easy and green way to support Cancer Research UK
- Step 1: Start by ordering a Donation Station pack. Your pack will contain a step-by-step guide, posters and donation bags.
- Step 2: Put your Donation Station in a prominent place so it's accessible for all staff to drop off their bags.
- Step 3: Promote your Donation Station using the materials provided in your pack.
- Step 4: Sit back and watch the bags roll in!
- Step 5: Once your Donation Station has closed, complete the form in the pack and write your name and your company on each bag to help us track them.
- Step 6: Drop the bags off at your local Cancer Research UK shop or if you have over 20 bags of donations, you can request a van driver collection.
"It was fun, quick to organise, and a good excuse for a spring clean! Each bag can be worth £30, so we're thrilled that in just a week we donated items that can raise £3,600 to help beat cancer."
