Payroll Giving

The difference your donation will make

By signing up to donate through your salary you will be helping to beat cancer. Here are a few examples of how a donation every month could help to make a real difference to our research:

If you sign up to give £5 a month

Glass slidesOur cells are tiny. It would take 100 to cover a pinhead. Our scientists place cells onto flat, glass slides and study them using a microscope to see what's going on inside. This helps them work out how cancer develops. What they learn paves the way for new approaches to preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. In just 1 year you could have donated enough to equip our scientists with 1800 glass slides.

If you sign up to give £10 a month

Protective clothingIn a research lab, it's often necessary for scientists to wear a lab coat, rubber gloves and, for some procedures, safety goggles. These essential items protect scientists from getting toxic chemicals on themselves. They also help to prevent their experiments from being contaminated with particles and bacteria from the scientists' hands and clothes. After 1 year, your payroll donations could enable us to kit out 5 scientists.

PhD studentCancer Research UK funded PhD students usually train for four years to earn their qualification. We recruit only the most promising graduates to our studentship scheme. Students from all over the world compete for places. So our research benefits from a diverse mix of ideas, experiences and talent. After 1 year, your payroll donations could support a PhD student for around 2 days.
